How to Set Up Cashless Pick-Up on the Droppz Platform

At Droppz, we’ve built our platform to make cannabis sales simple, compliant, and customizable for licensed retailers of all sizes. Cashless pick-up helps reduce friction at checkout, speeds up transactions, and guarantees that your orders are prepaid before the customer arrives. Setting it up is quick and straightforward.
Step 1: Enable Pick-Up in Your Vendor Portal (if not already done).
Log in to your Droppz vendor portal.
Under Additional Services, toggle the Pick-Up button and save.
Step 2: Register for Cashless Transactions with AeroPay
To activate cashless pick-up, you’ll need an AeroPay merchant account. This ensures all pick-up orders are prepaid and compliant.
Go to the Payment Integration page in your vendor portal.
Click Create a New Account to begin your AeroPay application.
Fill out the required information in the pop-up window.
Within 24–48 hours, you’ll receive a DocuSign for AeroPay’s Merchant Terms of Service.
Step 3: Enter Your Merchant Key.
Once your DocuSign is complete, AeroPay will issue your merchant key.
Return to the AeroPay page in your Droppz vendor portal.
Enter your merchant key and save.
Once validated, your cashless pick-up option is live.
Step 4: Configure Your Pick-Up Settings
Return to the settings, taxes, and fees.
Enter your merchant processing fee (up to 3%) in the Droppz processing fee field and save.
Now, under your product pricing table, you will see the Droppz platform price increase your in-store cash price by 3% to accommodate cashless orders.
Step 5: Now that pick-up has been activated, you will have access to the cashless pick-up order details.
To open a cashless pick-up order, click on View Details from the dashboard or your order page to view the order.
Step 7: Train Your Team
Estimated pick-up time – Our time logic for pick-up is set at 10 minutes for prep time and the customer's Google Maps travel time to the store.
Order building – Build the customer's pick-up order like normal in your existing point of sale system.
Have it ready – Place the prepared pick-up order with the customer's name visible and place it in the pick-up cabinet for the cashier to have ready when the customer arrives.
Complete the order – When the customer arrives, check their ID, and hand them their order. Close the order in your POS by cash payment type (customer has already paid via Droppz portal). Return to the order in the Droppz portal and hit complete order.
Notifications – Customers will receive updates when their order is ready for pick-up. The estimated pick-up time is updated in real time based on the order screen details activity.
Step 8: Promote Your New Option
Once activated, your customers can:
Browse your live menu on the Droppz app.
Add products to their cart, select Cashless Pick-Up, and pay securely in advance.
Receive a notification when their order is ready.
